Overview of the Meikarta Project:
The Meikarta Project is a whole new city built on the outskirts of Jakarta, that will house up to 8 million people once finished. This city is developed and invested by the Indonesian real estate giant Lippo Group. The total value of the project is over 278 trillion Rupiah ($20.9 billion USD).
The project involves the construction of world-class infrastructure and facilities that will include seven shopping malls, ten five star hotels, libraries, theaters, art center, schools, three international universities, an international exhibition center, and what is being dubbed as 'Indonesia's Silicon Valley'.
